MTPC has just rolled out the HKUST Stock Image service to support design and publicity work for the University. Like a stock image provider in the commercial market, the HKUST Stock Image service is a handy way to obtain updated and high-quality HKUST images for use in designs, publications and websites of the University.

Creative Media Zone invited local sound artist and field recordist AK Kan to share his experiences of curating local sound maps and the technique of sound recording. He also presented his experimental sound art on the immersive Soundscape system of Shaw Auditorium. In addition, AK also hosted a workshop that offered students the chance to record natural sounds around HKUST on different devices. Participants learned how to identify the best spots for sound recording, “observe” with their ears, and experience the mixture of changes and calmness in the natural world.

With the resumption of face-to-face classes in autumn 2022, CMZ’s equipment loan service will be offering many new devices for students and staff to create multimedia content for assignments and projects. They include cameras for both still photos and video shooting, wireless microphones, Insta360, action camera, stabilizer, audio recorder and other accessories. Equipment are available on a first come, first served basis. A full list of equipment can be found on the CMZ website.
