Hardcover Binding, Embossing, and Foil Stamping
Thanks to the newly installed hardcover machine in Printshop, MTPC can now produce a wide range of hardcover products such as coffee table books, photo books, folders for certificates and desk calendars.
Exhibitions in Library Gallery and Shaw Auditorium
MTPC collaborated with the Library, DAO, and SAU to design exhibitions in the Library and Shaw Auditorium. They include: “Power of Diversity – Artistic Visionaries from HKUST” in the Library Gallery, which featured the works of four alumni and the stories in their art journey; and Big Picture in Tiny Space – From Ancient Qin-Han Seals to Modern Seal Carving, the first exhibition held in the Shaw Auditorium.

Enhancement of MTPC Drupal Builder
MTPC has continuously enhanced the functionality of its Drupal Templates based on user requirements and feedback to attract wider adoption and minimize outsourcing production costs. Recently, a number of new features and functions have been added, including dynamic animation effect for banners and images for front-page and content; enhanced responsive function for sitemap; better UI for easy administration; a web form that supports flexible page layout and typography; and synchronization of the University Event Calendar and News. MTPC is also currently upgrading the MTPC Drupal templates to version 9 to comply with the University’s latest cybersecurity requirement.

HKUST Virtual Studio Service
MTPC will be piloting a virtual studio service for producing web video programs. A virtual studio is a type of television studio featuring a background that can be manipulated in real time. It enables interaction of people or objects with computer-generated 3D spaces, which can be a pre-built digital template or custom-built HKUST virtual scene. Unlike chromakey technology, virtual studio sets can be shot in multiple angles using cameras from different points of view. It also supports picture-in-picture and various video effects. Virtual studio programs don’t require much post-production, and they are also much faster and cheaper to set up than a physical studio setup. Please contact MTPC’s media production team to try this service for your programs.
